Ken Veilands
Head Soccer Coach
In the fall of 2008, Coach Veilands will enter his 9th season at Darton College after staring both the Men's and Women's programs in 2000. Under his leadership the Women's team has compiled a record of 133-25-6 and finished as Region Champs in 2005 & 2007, region runner-ups in 2000, 01, 03 and 06. In only their second season, the Darton Cavaliers reached the national polls with a ranking of 14th. In 2005, the Lady Cavaliers set 2 national records with most wins in a season (25) and most consecutive wins in a season (25). The 2005 team went on to win Region and District Championship honors with their only loss coming in the NJCAA National Championship game. For his efforts, Coach Veilands has been named Region XVII Coach of the Year twice and NSCAA South Region Coach of the Year twice.
Coached Veilands has coached 38 First Team All-Region Players, 12 All-Americans and 7 Academic All-Americans along with 4 players named as the Region Player of the Year.
Coach "V's" love for soccer started as a youth playing in the state of Indiana. He was an Indiana State Select player while playing prep ball at Carmel High School. He played his collegiate soccer for the University of Southern Indiana where he helped them to their highest NCAA Division II national ranking. His senior year he was named the teams defensive MVP. He earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Communications and Public Relations. Coach Veilands has 2 daughters, Mattie 9 and Ansley 6.
