Cody Wofford becomes All American
Darton State College short stop Cody Wofford is a D-1 All American, Honorable Mention, the NJCAA announced recently.
Wofford, who was part of a group of sophomores who lifted the Cavaliers into a nationally known program, helped the Cavs to 85 wins and their first top-ten national ranking during his two seasons at Darton.
“If we had to put a poster up in our locker room of what a Darton player should be, Cody Wofford, along with five or six other sophomores, would be that poster,” Darton State College head coach Scot Hemmings said. “His work ethic and his leadership... it’s just going to be tough replacing a player and young man like him.”
Wofford has signed with NCAA D-1 baseball program Western Kentucky, where he will transfer this fall.
Aside from All-America status, the McDonough native can also look back at Darton as a two-time 1st Team All Region player and a GCAA Gold Glove winner.
In 2013, he led the Cavaliers in hits (77), doubles (15), triples (6) and runs (50). He stole 23 bases, smacked 36 RBI and batted .376.
