Glenn Eames
Head Baseball Coach
Glenn Eames enters his thirtenth season as the head coach of the Cavaliers. Under his leadership, Darton has come to be recognized as a perennial contender for the GJCAA conference championship. In 1999, only the fourth year of Cavalier baseball, Eames led Darton to a second place finish in Region XVII. Since that pivotal year, the Cavaliers have continually produced winning records in region play. In 2005, Eames was recognized as Coach of the Year by the GJCAA while leading the team to a Cavalier best ever record of 32-19.
Prior to being named Darton's first baseball coach in 1995, Eames led the American Legion Post 30 team for three years, finishing second twice. Mare than forty of Coach Eames' former players have gone on to play at four year college programs, and nine have continued their careers in professional baseball. Responsible for all athletic fields on campus, Eames was largely responsible for the building of Cavalier Field in 1997. Coach Eames is a native of Albany and is the son of Paul and Dot Eames. Paul has been recognized as one of the top baseball coaches in the area. Eames is the proud father of a eighteen year old son, Andy Eames.
Chris Case
Assistant Baseball Coach
Chris Case enters his second season with the Cavalier baseball program and will primarily work with the infielders and hitters. He will also serve as the Recruiting Coordinator.Case is no stranger to GJCAA baseball. Previously, he coached 4 years at South Georgia College in Douglas and spent three seasons as the Recruiting Coordinator at Middle Georgia College in Cochran.
Case helped lead MGC to two Region 17 championships (2004, 2006). His 2004 squad also made it to the JUCO World Series and a number five ranking in the final National Junior College Poll. Coach Case has coached or signed 20 players drafted by Major League Baseball and helped numerous players sign with four year schools.He also serves as an associate scout for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Coach Case is a graduate of Villa Rica High School, where he played under Coach Mike Tice. Next, Case attended South Georgia College and played for two seasons for Coach Scott Sims where he received his A.S. in Education. Following SGC, Case signed at Thomas University and played under the direction of Coach Mike Lee. Case finished his career with the Nighthawks, where he received his B.S. degree in Liberal Studies.
Besides his baseball duties,Coach Case works as the Assistant Grounds Coordinator for all athletic fields at Darton College.
